The IVAPM Research & Scholarship Foundation has two main objectives:

Research: To inspire young investigators and novel research projects through grants for pilot studies.

Scholarship: To identify, recognize and support students with an interest in addressing animal pain management in their studies at colleges of veterinary medicine and programs in animal health technologies.

The international board of the IVAPM Foundation works to create the infrastructure which supports these objectives. What remains is the continued need to secure the financial investments to ensure the success of these ongoing efforts.

2024 IVAPM/Fear Free Research Grant Call for Proposals & Terms of Funding
The International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM) and Fear Free have joined forces on a research grant of up to $3000.00 for pain/analgesia research. Fear Free funds studies designed to generate original evidence-based research in dogs, cats, birds and/or horses focused on the prevention, reduction or measurement of fear, anxiety, stress and/or pain associated with veterinary visits, including travel, facilities, procedures, hospitalization or post-visit in home care. Studies conducted in shelters are eligible for funding if the study results are applicable to veterinary visits and hospitalization. All successful grant applications must fulfill both the IVAPM and Fear Free requirements and must meet approved animal care and use guidelines for humane and ethical treatment of animals.

Applications for this granting process are due by 11:59 PM Central Time August 1, 2024.
